Throughout 2022, Cobra Games, a video game company renowned for its amazing action RPG games, became one of the biggest companies in the gaming industry, amassing a revenue of over $15.5 billion from 2022 alone. Before the beginning of 2022, Cobra Games was hardly known among the gaming community.

All of that changed when they released their first action RPG game to the public, Doom Slayer. The game gained attraction from audiences from all over the globe, and by March 2022, nearly every person involved in the gaming community got their hands on a copy of this game. Critics and players alike found that this game had little to no flaws and was the perfect game to play for almost anyone. Cobra Games continued on to create over twenty more of these types of games, which all received similar feedback as their first.

However, things took a turn for the worse for the company when on October 26th, 2022, the CEO of Cobra Games was found dead at approximately 9:13 a.m. in his office. When police arrived at the scene, they found an assortment of evidence, including a blood spatter on the wall of the dead corpse, a fingerprint on a weapon left behind by the perpetrator, soil on the ground, and a tire track right outside the company’s office building. The police have found five potential suspects that could be responsible for this murder.

Investigators sampled each piece of evidence and brought it back to the lab for testing. To assist in your investigation of this crime, a second forensics team was called to perform these lab tests for you and have provided you with the lab results. Additionally, the police conducted an interrogation on each suspect and have provided you with any relevant information on each suspect. Your job is to identify evidence found at the scene, and using the background of the crime scene and the case profiles of each suspect, find the perpetrator(s) of this crime. Good luck and happy crime busting!

Figure

Suspect #1: Nate the Programmable Calculator Nate PC is a low-level employee at the Cobra Games company. Nate has been developing a new software for months in order to gain a promotion at the company. However, his code was recently leaked in a company data breach. The CEO of Cobra Games discovered his software and decided to implement the code without any compensation to Nate.

Nate copes with his intense emotions by consuming copious amounts of jello. When he’s in a good mood, he prefers to eat healthy: salads with a balsamic vinaigrette. He also enjoys procrastinating on his work by going to the beach and tanning in his nylon-spandex blend bathing suit.

Figure

Suspect #2: Dream Dream is a popular Minecraft YouTuber and streamer who recently gave Doom Slayer a try. After getting familiar with the game, he decided to do some speedruns to beat the game. However, streamers and other users on Twitter accused his speedruns of being fake, which caused him to lash out and subsequently dig a deeper grave for himself. Recently, he has been found suspiciously lurking around the streets near Cobra Games’ office building.

During his streams, Dream sometimes makes oobleck for his primarily 12-year-old audience. His favorite meal is a batch of churros and a refreshing lemonade. Dream is a very tidy person, and often scrubs down rooms like his kitchen and bathroom. He gets frustrated when he finds loose brown hairs that he missed while sweeping after shaving. When he’s not cleaning, Dream chills on the couch with his cat in his favorite wool sweater under his gifted rayon blanket. Before the crime scene, neighbors filed a noise complaint because Dream was lighting fireworks in his backyard.

Figure

Suspect #3: Raken Raken is a middle-aged suburban mother from Miami, Florida. Raken is an avid video game hater, blaming her son’s bad attitude on his nonstop playthroughs of Doom Slayer. Recently, her son’s grades have been dropping and she’s now fed up with her son’s habits. Raken prefers taking her anger out on the world instead of recognizing her failures as a parent.

Her ideal day consists of wrapping her kid’s sandwiches in aluminum foil while doing her nails. Raken cares a lot about her appearance and even bleached her hair blonde in her bathroom. Because she prioritizes her appearance, she has to consume vitamin C gummies to counteract her nutritional deficits from fasting. Recently, she bought a fresh bag of flour from a local supermarket.

Figure

Suspect #4: Dream Stan Mr. Dream Stan is a high school dropout from Orlando, FL. Ever since he found out about Dream in early 2020, Mr. Dream Stan has been obsessed. He applied as a moderator on Dream’s Discord server and decided to quit his job to fully pursue his career of being a dedicated mod on Dream’s server. Following the cheating allegations against Dream, he attacked everyone he found that accused Dream of cheating, including the creators of Doom Slayer themselves.

As a result of his pursued interest, he has developeda multitude of health problems, such as malnutrition. To combat this issue, he consumes gelatin pills on a daily basis. During meals, he usually eats takeout. In his free time, Stan amasses a collection of cotton swabs used by his favorite celebrities. Stan also recently bought a dog to tune into his self-conceived fursona. The day before the crime, he went mentally insane and started attacking neighbors with a zinc pipe.

Figure

Suspect #5: Chadd Brettinson Chadd Brettinson, a 35-year old accountant from Rochester, MN was found naruto running in his among-us costume around the perimeter of the building at 3 a.m. After analyzing his facebook posts from the past 6 weeks, he seemed to have been furious over the fact that Doom Slayer replaced Among sUs as the game of 2022.

Recently before his departure to the studio, he tested his groundbreaking revelation regarding the theory of a flat earth. He put a magnet at one pole of the earth, and another magnet at the opposite pole, however they didn’t seem to attract. He claims that this was due to the government “shutting off gravity” during his experiment, as his magnets seem to stick to him just fine! Chadd likes to use Plaster of Paris to make a model of his idea of what the Earth looks like. Unfortunately, the people he showed it to disliked his idea, so he shoved yeast in their faces.
